BRIAN R. KOOYMAN
DIRECTOR GLOBAL BUSINESS

Brian Kooyman graduated as a Bachelor of Architecture, and has worked in the Australian construction Industry since 1972. He has gained extensive experience in the management and planning of the design, documentation and construction phases of major projects. Throughout his career Brian has been extensively involved in a wide range of commercial and public projects (including the Darling Harbour Redevelopment, the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games and many major Hospital and transport projects), advising on project delivery strategies for clients and contractors.
Experience has been gained both in preparation and defence of contractual disputes, and as an expert witness. Brian has also achieved accreditation through the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) at Master Project Director level and for Training & Development as a Trainer. Brian has provided seminars and workshops and key note addresses on many aspects of project management, both nationally and at international conferences.
Brian is a Fellow in the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) and has held executive positions as National President, and President of the NSW Chapter. Internationally, Brian has also been the Chair of the Global Council, Chair of the Nominating Committee, and a member of the Ethics Review Committee for the PMI (USA). Brian has been awarded an Honorary International Fellowship Award for contributions to project management in India (2002), and was awarded the Australian Council of Chapters Distinguished Contribution to Project Management in Australia (2003).
